Surviving Sharks - a massive 2012!
Hi Everybody!
We're nearly into 2013 and what a ride this year has been! We never expected anything and so many great things have happened one year in. Thanks to EVERYONE that attended the Surviving Sharks CD launch, what a massive night it was! We also just recently played to a receptive bunch at the CD launch of local band HAWKAI who are totally amazing!
Next month we start recording NEW songs for you all and will also announce some new gig dates for 2013.
Also! Keep your eyes peeled to RAGE TV as we will reveal our new film clip for 'Russian Tide', very very soon!

Playing with some of our favorite local bands Squeaker, Imogen Brave and A Film for the Future. $10 Entry to the show, heaps of cool merch on sale and behold a bunch of great performances at a great venue THE ED CASTLE, awesome music, food and two bars coupled with a massive beer garden, it's going to be a balmy night! :)

Greetings all!
Holy crap it's now August and so much has happened!
Long story short - we played the Hotel Metro last night to a very appreciative bunch which was great because we haven't played for a while and have been focusing a lot more on recording, preparing the CD, so we can at least have it out and around by September. Rehearsals have been fun too with heaps of productivity regarding our song-writing and it was funny last night I heard many comments about a new song Drew has written tentatively titled 'Empty Universe' with it's typical harmony-lines between Josh, Drew and I which is what we strive for when we play live.

June and July - Recording new songs!
Greetings Sharks Fans!
The last few months have been particularly busy for Surviving Sharks, playing loads of shows with heaps of different bands in Adelaide.We're just finished tracking two new songs 'Days into Night' and 'Russian Tide' which will be available on Soundcloud in June 2012. These two songs will round out our debut EP ( Title to be announced) to be released in July 2012 containing 6-tracks
Three D Radio also have a new compilation cd coming out shortly called Depthcharge II, which will contain a song by Surviving Sharks, check out their website for more details.

In the Studio...and a Show!

The good news is, Bleed and See from the demo has made it on to the next Three D Radio Compilation CD, Depthcharge 11! Will be out very soon! :)
So, the other good news is we're back in the studio recording and shoud submerge sometime in the next two weeks - and play a show at ENIGMA BAR, one of our favourite local venues.

Before the show, Sean(singer/drummer) in Surviving Sharks will be having a joint Sculpture/Painting/Live art/Drawing/Music Photography exhibition Upstairs at the Grace Emily with Local artist Steve OConnor and music journalist/blogger/ Photographer Spoz. Kicks off at 6pm - 8pm, bands to start around 9:30pm.
'Stuff we Done' will be on display from the 7th April(opening night) until 22nd April, every day at the Grace Emily Hotel(Waymouth Street), Adelaide from 6pm - 8pm.
Surviving Sharks - 9:45pm

Surviving Sharks in focus..

The other week we went into the studio and recorded two new songs 'mean streak' and 'her afterglow', both songs very anthemic, the nature of Drews writing processes, and will have mixed and mastered versions back next week to go towards an album of songs with three more songs to be recorded in Jan/Feb 2012. So, effectively by April we'll have new songs for you, and to go with that plenty of live dates where you can check us out.

Greetings all!
Well, this is my first blog for ages, and may be far and few in-between, but we havent had a website in ages and its good to be back!
I guess one of the best things to happen to the band in the last few months(since we started in June) has been the success of our film clip and the songs breaking into our countries like USA and UK. Its proven that we don't really have to move from Adelaide to make inroads with our songs!
Have to say that we're all super excited to be recording two new songs in two weeks time and the wheels are in motion to have another release early in 2012, with brand new songs! We'll also have some new photos soon thanks to Matt Carty and of course a follow up film clip to 'Bleed and See'.
Surviving Sharks will also have the opportunity to play a few shows over the next couple of months so come along and check us out live!
